Sydney Metro forces people out of their Sydney
Sydney Metro is looking to expand its network with seven new metros being prepared across Western Sydney. To create space for the subway stations, the government has issued order to evict residents of 115 properties. Several local businesses are also being demolished in the process, which also includes the entire Sydney Speedway.
One of the residents being evicted from his home is an 88- year old Martino Colacicco. He has lived at his five dock home for more than 50 years. He moved into the resident in 1966. However, a knock of his door by a government official changed everything. He was informed that his property was being acquired compulsorily by the government of New South Wales to make way for the new western metros. Mr. Colacicco said that this is not a democracy, and this is communism. The transport minister ensured a speedy recovery of the residents.
