The government has recently allowed coalmining near one of Sydney's water reservoirs which provides big part of the city with drinking water. There will be three new walls in the mine. The ecologists say this will certainly have bad influence on quality of the water, and they are afraid of worsening ecological situation which is already not good. But the works has been postponed because of the pandemic in the state.
This new law caused wave of disturbance from different ecological groups in New South Wales. Now they are going to create a petition that aims to stop this.
In return the government informs that this project will provide with job several hundreds families and moreover researches show that surface water don't reduce because of the mining.

Today he has been arrested by police. It is known that the man was not alone while doing the crime. He and another man attacked several supermarkets and storages in Sydney. It is not the first case of its king and investigations are going on. The man is to face the court online today. He is charged with stealing, break and enter the private property.

The New South Wales movement has set up its plan to combat the spread of coronavirus in the state. As per the new policy under coronavirus pandemic, every passenger disembarking on Sydney Airport from overseas will be taken to quarantine place. Thousands of passengers descending at Sydney Airport will be diagnosed and kept in quarantine with all the facilities.
The NSW police, border control, and Defense Force officers will take care of all the necessities of the passengers and will help them through their quarantine days. Chartered buses have been arranged by the officials to take the passengers to the quarantine hotel. Every person needs to spend around two weeks in that self-isolated place. Sydney Airport started this protocol of quarantine from Sunday morning. The administration has tried best to bring up all the necessary resources to the quarantine place. However, people have shown concerns about their loving ones.

Sydney hotel doesn't provide elderly people with medical check-up
The Swissotel in the centre of Sydney has become a temporary dwelling for people who got off the ship which went from the US to Australia. There are almost 300 of them, and they are mostly elderly people who have the highest risk to be infected with COVID-19 now. The government decided to leave these passengers at the hotel, even citizens of other countries.
The hotel informed the passengers would have a needed medical check-up. However, this has not happened. One of the residents says that she really cares for senior people who live in neighboring rooms.
Some of them complain about absence of freedom as they cannot leave the room and breathe fresh air outside.

The government has put every effort to ensure the safety and hygiene of Aussies. They are following the Queensland Public Health standard f sanitation and treatment.

The Prime Minister of Victoria turned to people today saying that there were almost 700 cases of infection with COVID-19 in Victoria, more specifically 685. It is 111 people more than yesterday. So, the quarantine in the state is getting stricter. From now on police are allowed to fine people who leave home without necessity and have more rights in general. Fine can be from 2000 to 10 000 dollars.
The Premier has mentioned also about possible restrictions of the third stage of this quarantine, but they are coming later. Now it is forbidden to gather for more than 2 people and to leave a house without necessity.
