Melbourne United end Wildcats' winning streak in Perth
Melbourne United, with a dominant 13-point win over the Perth Wildcats at RAC Arena on Saturday, managed to close up the gap between the top two teams in the NBL.

Perth takes the fight to NRL over expansion snub.
A leading Western Australian businessman has vowed to take the fight to the NRL, refusing to give up hope of an expansion side in Perth.
Though there has been a collective push for the NRL to turn to Perth after the Western Reds were axed in 1997, the new chairman of the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) Peter V'landys has spoken against the move.
V'landys, in a recent interview, describing his blueprint for a probable expansion in the next broadcast deal in 2023, said that according to his personal view, the NRL should not drain money investing in diehard AFL states.
He said that he prefers to adding a second team in Brisbane alongside the Broncos and pointed to player welfare concerns.
This report from V'landys infuriated the league community in Western Australia, and Peter Cumins, executive deputy chairman of Cash Converters, said that they are not about to roll over.

A snake was found hiding in a pile of electrical cords in a Queensland garage. It was disguising itself among the wires in a very clever manner. Tony Harrison, who is a snake catcher, was called to capture the camouflaged reptile at Logan home south of Brisbane on Friday. He said in a statement that when he saw the red and black leads, he thought it is going to be a tough but exciting job. However, he took only two minutes to find the snake. It was a tiny and young snake, but it is considered dangerous as the venom is potent from day one. Harrison posted a video on Facebook in which he was seen looking in the wire and saying, “where are you, little man.” He held it with its tail on finding it along with a wire of a similar color. He mentioned in the video that it was hard to figure out which was wire and which was a snake. A voice was heard in the video of a little boy who was saying that the snake was cute. He appeared later and helped Harrison to put the snake in the bag.

25 декабря в Юридической программе GIZ в Грузии состоялась презентация тематического исследовательского отчета об эффективности государственных предприятий. Представленное комиссией по расследованию GIZ Georgia, исследование подвело итоги работы, проделанной в этой области, и ее предложений по дальнейшему улучшению.
Представители Всемирного банка, Института развития свободы информации (IDFI), Госконтроля и частные лица высказали свое мнение по данной теме в ходе презентации.
«Запрос комитета считается одним из новых инструментов осуществления парламентского надзора и осуществляется при активном участии различных общественных групп по актуальным важным вопросам», - говорится в юридической программе GIZ.
Запрос комиссии по эффективности управления государственными предприятиями был проведен по инициативе парламентского комитета по отраслевой экономике и экономической политике Грузии при поддержке правовой программы GIZ. В этом процессе участвовали как Министерство экономики и устойчивого развития Грузии, так и Министерство финансов Грузии.
