Large firms that have stopped working on the underground rail tunnel, which costs $11 billion in Melbourne might miss other major infrastructure projects in Victoria. The government and Prime Minister warned the consortium that they could also be in court to implement the arrangement they signed for the construction of the subway. According to the union, about forty workers from the tunneling project were sent to John Holland for “training” over the next few weeks. When they return to work is unknown.
The consortium stopped two boring cars some days ago as a conflict over costs escalated. The Prime Minister adds that the government conducts specific tender processes, but any tender, of course, is looking for firms that have a track record of definite deliveries, not necessarily a track record of an adequately clear tactical game.
