A blind woman and a bus driver's conflict
The Melbourne resident Louise Pearson travels by the same bus every morning and she has been doing it for several years already. She is not able to see, so she walks together with her guide dog. But one morning, yesterday, she was refused to enter the bus because of her dog. It was a new driver and they started a one hour long conflict. Even the passengers tried to persuade the driver that mrs Pearson is always allowed to enter the bus with her dog. Moreover, the law allow traveling with animals in buses in Victoria.
Later the driver offered her to call police and they would drive her but the woman refused. After all the driver let her in the bus. Mrs Pearson says that it is a problem for blind people to travel as the drivers will rarely take you, if you have a dog with you.
