New Zealand’s efforts to salvage some pride from their miserable tour of Australia may happen as smoke haze could come into play in the third and final Test in Sydney this week. Bushfires are raging across New South Wales State, and day two of the match on Saturday is going to face a more significant challenge with temperatures forecast showing a rise with expected smoggier conditions. The smoke is one of the biggest concerns for the officials who are relying on the air quality guidelines from the International Cricket Council, State governments, and the Australian Institute of Sports. The inconsistencies on what to be considered unsafe for the players are making the job even more difficult as there is a lack of proper protocols about visibility and air quality. It is going to be an Umpires decision in the end if they find conditions safe for the game.
