Attack on the 71-year-old
Yesterday in the morning a couple was walking in the centre of Adelaide, when some man came up to them to ask something and suddenly attacked a 71-year-old man with a hammer. There were some witnesses, who helped. The victim's wife began to protect her husband and the attacker bit her arm. Anyway witnesses succeeded to stop and catch the offender. They say he was 'filled with ferocity'.
The victim has been given the first aid and taken to the hospital with injures of the head. Nothing threatens his life. The attacker is in custody now and is going to face the court soon. Police is to find out his motives.

Temperature drop in SA
Last few weeks in SA were really hot. A lot of weather records have been broken. And many nature phenomena took place not only in South Australia, but in Victoria and NSW as well.
Now the situation is going to change. Meteorologists are talking about a temperature drop this week and more rains. The rains are to start since Wednesday and last till the end of the week.

Coronavirus situation in SA
Recently the couple from China have been confirmed infected with coronavirus. They came to Adelaide to visit relatives and now are in the hospital. 88 people have already been examined by SA health.
SA Health urge everyone who visited Adelaide auction to coming to hospital and seeing a doctor, as the risk of infecting there existed. The couple from China was there. So the real estate office, which arranged the auction has been closed because of possible risk. They say they do not want to expose clients to risk. It was advised to arrange isolation period for a lot of Adelaide's establishments. So 25 people who were there should see a doctor as soon as possible.
Power outrages in Adelaide
Recently severe thunderstorm in Adelaide caused power outrages across all the city. Electricity has been off even in the main hospital in the cities. Numerous surgeries have been cancelled and it caused panic among the staff and patients. Each employee was looking for flashlight.
It is not the first global power outrage in South Australia. Extreme weather conditions, high temperature and thunderstorms affect very much. The electric system cannot bear it. And it is still not the end. Meteorologists inform about more storms along the coast and more rains which will lead to floods. Anyway, such weather has its pluses: it is expected that rains will completely extinguish fires on Kangaroo Island.

Fires in SA continue to burn

Meteorologists inform about three very hot days in the middle of this week. Heat can be abnormal so even healthy people can feel very bad. Moreover, high temperature kills more people than any other natural phenomenon. They advise not to come out without a very important reason.
It is expected about 40 degrees in Adelaide with no relief at night. It also can lead to bigger fire danger despite late rains especially in South Australia. And as summer is far from the end, it is no the last heat wave yet.
Drug lab exploded in Adelaide
Some days ago emergency services were called to the South of Adelaide. A building exploded. Two people: a man and a woman were seriously injured and a part of the building was destroyed. Residents of the house say they smelt some chemical scent in the air before explosion. They were quickly evacuated as the building could fall. Police say it is very fortunately that no resident was hurt and no fire was caused.
Officers guess that explosion happened in a drug lab in this house, though it is still dangerous to enter the house. They ask anyone, who knows something about alleged drug labs to turn to police. Officers are going to interview injured people as soon as possible.

Seventh person with measles in Sydney
Recently a woman has been diagnosed with measles, which is very dangerous disease. It is not the first case in New South Wales. She is already the seventh person with such a disease in the state. Medical people in NSW declared a health alert in the capital. The woman has been infected probably on Australia Day. Doctors said that all the pregnant women, people with weak immunity and people with babies should turn to the hospital for medical check up.
Symptoms are fever, cough, sneezing and red rash. They appear after 18 days. Measles is communicable disease and is spread by air. Everyone who has such symptoms must visit a doctor.
Evacuation of Sydney residents from China
Recently the government has showed a law which bans any flights from China to Australia, if the passengers are not Australia citizens. Anyway, thousands of Australian tourists are coming back from the infected country.
At the Sydney airport all of these people are undergoing medical check up. Some of them are taken to the hospital for more serious check up. Everyone passenger must be checked, as coronavirus can have very light symptoms at the beginning. Only yesterday more than 1600 people have undergone the examination. Several people have been sent to the hospital, as the doctors found some symptoms of dangerous illness.
A driver in Sydney killed children
Recently a drunk driver has knocked four children to death, three more were seriously injured.This happened in Sydney, 3 days ago. The 29-year-old drunk driver lost control of his car and crashed into children walking along the sidewalk. Three girls aged 8 to 12 years and one 13-year-old boy died. Two more children were injured and were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Victims are in a stable condition. Police are investigating the circumstances.
Two dead children were members of the same family. Another dead child is their relative.
A driver whose name is not indicated will appear in court today. Including he is accused of murder.

Changes may be taken in the exams
UPPSC is preparing for major changes in moderation and scaling in the CS exam. The PCS-2017 marksheet recently released by the Commission is giving a clear indication of this change.
The chairman of the commission, Dr. Prabhat Kumar, had said in an interview to a channel in the early days of his joining that the scaling and moderation process would be amended. He also said that if needed, it can also be removed.
The Commission has also removed five subjects from the PCS-2019 main examination, including subjects like Defense Studies and Social Work. Both these subjects are very high scoring.
